Notifications

Scoutroom automatically sends email when certain events happen. For example, scouts (and their parents) are notified when a rank advancement is recorded in Scoutroom. In addition, members with specific roles are notified. Since the administrator essentially has all roles, he or she is notified of everything. The following actions trigger notifications:

  1. Rank Advancement - When a new Board of Review date is recorded in Scoutroom.net, a notification is automatically sent to the scout's email1 address, to the Advancement Chair, and to the user that recorded the rank advancement.
  2. Completed Merit Badge - When a completed merit badge is recorded in Scoutroom.net, a notification is automatically sent to the scout's email1 address, to the Advancement Chair, and to the user that recorded the completed merit badge.
  3. Award - When an award is recorded in Scoutroom.net, a notification is automatically sent to the scouts email1 address, to the Advancement Chair, and to the user that recorded the award.
  4. Training - When a training record is created, the Training Coordinator, Activity Coordinator and the scout/scouter that completed the training are notified
  5. New member record is added - When a member is added to scoutroom, email is sent to that member's email addresses, with a welcome note and an invitation to register to use Scoutroom. The recordkeeper role is copied on this note.
  6. Payment Failed - This message is sent when Amazon notifies Scoutroom that an attempt to pay by Credit/Debit failed. The Scoutroom user, the treasurer and quartermaster are notified.
  7. Payment Succeeded - This message is sent when Amazon notifies Scoutroom that an attempt to pay by Credit/Debit succeeded. The Scoutroom user is notified of processing success. A separate notification of payment is sent to the treasurer and quartermaster, and the quartermaster is request to fulfill the order if a product was purchased.
  8. Registration - A note is sent to the prospective Scoutroom user instructing him/her to click on the email's link to complete registration.
  9. Registration Success - A note is sent to the new Scoutroom user verifying that the registration for Scoutroom completed successfully.
